Re: Prootwaddles
The SCA members take great pride and derive great enjoyment in making their own medieval weapons and armor, spar with them, and even make renaissance clothing, and even "mead", etc, etc - all very cool things - with your interest in TFT, you might want to check them out.
However, like any other large highly-focused and welcoming group, this can often be a magnet to attract a select smaller group of personalities who - as described in TFT as: Prootwaddles - can make the whole interaction unpleasant for others, with "quarrelsome and unruly" behaviors, or, who just seem to hang-around with the sole purpose and motivation of arguing for the point of arguing - like those guys who seem to always show up at a party and ruin the enjoyment for everyone else, work very hard at purposefully misconstruing and inventing drama, issues, and offense, where none is present; or routinely begin most conversations with: "I disagree". And Prootwaddles can appear anywhere, alone and in groups; ever been to your local Barber Shop, or the United Nations? Everywhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLlv_aZjHXc JK Last edited by Jim Kane; 05-29-2018 at 10:38 AM. Reason: Typo |

Re: Prootwaddles
Hi Ecz,
The SCA stands for the "Society of Creative Anachronism" where people do the Middles Ages the way that they should have been. You can become a peer by fighting, doing arts and sciences or by service. Rick |

Re: Prootwaddles
I've never used Prootwaddles either -- for many of the same reasons adduced here. Also, they always seemed likely to completely destroy the "suspension of disbelief" that I always strive for in my campaigns. How can anyone take your fantasy campaign seriously with Prootwaddles in it? ;-)

Re: Prootwaddles
I like them as the TFT equivalent of D&D gully dwarves... I've had one player play one.

Re: Prootwaddles
How did that go? I'm genuinely curious here -- since I could never bring myself to permit them in my world! ;-)

Re: Prootwaddles
Our GM used Prootwaddles as more of a nuisance creature. They were sometimes encountered on the way to an adventure, or during a town situation. Actually, my favorite nuisance creatures were Children. Pesky little rock throwers!!!!
Yours, ...just yours, Tolenkar
