Default Transferral Potion Returns One-Shots?

Unless I am mistaken, the discussion at http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=74556 seems to suggest that if Transferral Potion is used to take combat away from a player, then any one-shots that player used on himself are returned (though cards discarded to fuel a class ability cannot be returned).
If this is correct, I am unsure how this ruling came to be. I don't see any obvious indication on the cards or in the FAQ. Could someone please clarify?

Since neither Andrew nor myself said anything of the sort in that thread, no official ruling was made. Give me some time to look this over and do a little research.

The entire Monster side of the combat is moved to another player, so nothing happens to the one-shots played on the Monster side. However, any cards played to the munchkin side are considered to have been played and go to the discards and are not returned. I'm not sure where anyone got the idea that they'd be returned.
