Default Hot Wheels

I have been looking for Hot Wheels that I think are suitable for out-of-the-box CW 5e and 6e play. Somewhat to my surprise, I have only found four designs:There are some that have a futuristic military look, but they (mostly) do not have obvious weapons. There are several very militaristic ones, including Tanknator, but the aesthetic does not fit CW IMHO.

I cannot recall the name, but there is an AI Hot Wheels car with belt fed MGs.

Also, The Punisher Van has some pop out weapons.

The Deadshot and Cyborg Hot Wheels cars are easy to overlook and look acceptable straight out of the package.

Some of the Humvees cars have a turret on them and work too.

Do you mind looking around for that one a bit more? I find the AI sets easily enough, but nothing like the car you describe.

Beetle, Sorry it took so long.

Hotwheels Turbot has a Beltfed MG on the upper right side.
It is a tiny bit molded in the metal of the body and suffers from the same issues some of the new CW designs do, the line of fire doesn't clear its own fenders.

You all need to BRUSH YOUR TEETH. ;)
Also, eat some Pringles.

Seriously, I just discovered one of the cheapest terrain bits you can get.
Crest Toothpaste boxes are a Near PRECISE fit for a 1/64th scale ISO Shipping Container.

ISO standard shipping containers feature heavily in the end of the A-Team Movie and almost any car chase set at a port.

90% of them are the 40ft long variety. Most of the rest are 20ft long.
All of them are 8ft wide and either 8ft 6in or 9ft 6in tall.

Crest toothpaste boxes are 1.5 inches wide by 1.75 tall by 8.5 long.
The resulting scale size is 8ft wide by 10ft tall by 45ft long.
A little modding to 7.5 inches long will get you a passable 40ft container.
45ft containers do exist, though. So an unmodded box sprayed with rust colored primer will be the perfect size for quick terrain.

Lasercraft Workshop sells a really nice set of MDF containers. They are the correct scale for the less tall ISO containers and the proper width, but their lengths are funny.
The Long ones are 4 inches, so they would be OK 21ft containers but the short ones are 2.5 inches which would be 13ft.

Pringles Cans sprayed rust primer are great rusty fuel tanks and double as storage containers for other terrain bits, like Jersey Barriers etc.
Just dump the bits in and pop the lid back on.

SCALE Conversion for this post provided by...

http://www.scalemodelersworld.com/on...rter-tool.html

Which can convert between any two scales in Metric or Inch/Ft.
It will even convert an Inch/Ft size to a Metric scale size or vice versa.

More (sort of) free terrain bits...

I'm a diabetic, so I take a medical shot once a week.
It comes in one of the modern injection pens.

The needles have two plastic covers that get removed and discarded before you use the injector. The inner covers sprayed orange make passable traffic cones.

Inside the injector pen (which says not to open, you've been warned) there are all sorts of bits of springs and stuff. There is a small circular disk with a smaller circle detail in the center of each side that when sprayed grey make passable land mines.

They're a bit big for true scale, but true scale traffic cones and land mines for 1/64 would be difficult to pick up.

Just soak them in rubbing alcohol first to make sure they are clean.

Thanks! Most of the HW guns are too big, so it is quite the change of pace to have one where the gun is so subtle.

The old Girder and Panel sets are some of the most flexible resources for making ramps, elevated structures and buildings. Lots and lots of things you can do with these.

Ultimately, I suspect that people will be building custom arenas for play.

Rainbow Bay Blast Furnace

KEAR Coliseum (Warrior Stadium) <-- This one will be at OrcaCon in Bellevue WA this weekend (January 11th, 2020).

The above two were built using different techniques. The first is mostly plywood, the second foam insulation with a layer of plastic on top of it. I have two more arenas planned out currently, with one being worked on already using yet a third method.

If there's enough interest I can probably pull together a series on making/building these. (FWIW, I think many people would be interested in an Arena book with a section on building these sorts of arenas).

For storage of 3X cars/figures, one of the better ones are the Army Transport bags. They also look nice when the trays are placed on a table to select.

@MageSmiley, can you try posting links to just the images? For those of us not on FB.
