And an exciting overrun. I played it out, and the attackers took the hex with two infantry squads remaining.

I actually play my old OGRE/GEV editions more often that I do the Designer's Edition. Space is always a consideration, and with everything fitting into a case the size of an old VHS tape, I don't re-aggravate my hernia.

I'd personally love to see that size re-issued. Much easier to take on vacation, etc.

A nice compromise is the ODE maps with the classic counter set. They can be very compact, and if you have the Deluxe Ogre/Deluxe GEV paper maps, those are the same ODE size. Another option is to print your own ODE sized maps with Tom's OgreMap2

Yes. I agree. I also use the classic set more often due to lower space requirements.
