Re: Ogre Playmat M1 Preorders at Warehouse 23
We're not limiting this to 100 playmats, we just need a minimum of 100 to put in the order. We'll happily print as many playmats as we get preorders.

This new map has some visual similarities to the one based on Washington DC seen on BGG a few weeks ago -- wonder what sorts of scenarios we can cook up?

I'm already thinking 'Invasion of Beijing'. That city is enormous...

Okay, you got my money. Will we get any sort of update as to when the 100th order is received and production begins?

Re: Ogre Playmat M1 Preorders at Warehouse 23
I'm in for a pre-order. Having a smaller mat on hand will be useful in addition to the large 80mm hex mats I'm painting up.
But here are some points: * 2" hexes would a better size for miniatures and I would have preferred that, but I see how you have the legacy hardware problem of overlays. Still, I would be happier with 2" and can make my own overlays if I really wanted them. * For the love of mercy, why can't you design fully geo-morphic maps? * If this goes well, please consider 2" hex fully geomorphic mats for the future! 2 such mats would make a good size playing field with a lot of flexibility for set-up. Some percentage of your customers, including me, would buy at least two and you get more sales. ^,^

Because we're using a different medium (mat instead of mapboard), it creates some limitations with borders, etc. This is a bit smaller than our traditional boards. I'm not unaware of the concerns, but there is a bigger picture. And as mentioned, overlays should easily be able to account for the variations. D.

That is a much more elegant system than having to rely on fiddly overlays to achieve bigger maps.

Yet those Panzer Leader style boards all end up looking the same, since all roads and waterways must line up with each other (I think I have the first 40 or so regular ones, and then the eight Deluxe boards, for "maybe"Ogre use).

For folks who would like to enjoy a coöperative game of Ogre Tetris, get a group of players, take 6 different ODE boards, and try to lay them out on a 4' x 8' table and match up all the map edges.
