Disability help
Hello I am blind and years I have used the program Jaws to read GCA to read my character, but it’s not longer working. I can only read the menus the last three months to so. Admin can you help please? Do I need a new add on or has something changed?

Re: Disability help
I'm afraid that I don't really know anything at all about the accessibility options in Windows, and how programs work with them.
What I do know is that GCA hasn't had a program update released in quite some time, so whatever has happened doesn't seem likely to be due to GCA itself. It seems that perhaps a Windows update, or an update of your program Jaws, may have changed things to cause a loss of compatibility with GCA.

Re: Disability help
Lameth, I have great sympathy for your problem. I assume other programs are still working correctly with JAWS (or well enough).
One thing I would worry about is that GCA 4 uses an older version of the VB runtime, old enough that JAWS might have chosen to drop support for it. *Sad face* Do you have a friend with a screen reader who would let you try GCA on their machine? The goal would be to see if its a specific problem with your machine (or your screen reader) vs theirs; if it works on their machine, and they use JAWS, you can compare the program versions and contact JAWS about how to roll back your JAWS version until they fix the issue. Last time I checked the Windows built in accessibility features weren't very well regarded, but it might be worth checking if they still work with GCA. Turning them on to use GCA would be a work-around to let you still get access to your character.
