Balseraph to Seraph:
You had something to hide
Should have hidden it, shouldnt you
Now youre not satisfied
With what youre being put through

Its just time to pay the price
For not listening to advice
And deciding in your youth
On the policy of truth

Things could be so different now
It used to be so civilised
You will always wonder how
It could have been if youd only lied

Its too late to change events
Its time to face the consequence
For delivering the proof
In the policy of truth

Never again
Is what you swore
The time before
Never again
Is what you swore
The time before

Now youre standing there tongue tied
Youd better learn your lesson well
Hide what you have to hide
And tell what you have to tell

Youll see your problems multiplied
If you continually decide
To faithfully pursue
The policy of truth

Never again
Is what you swore
The time before
Never again
Is what you swore
The time before

"Policy of Truth" Depeche Mode

Curious that you should also, in a roundabout way, attach a wheelchair to Wind. I did too, but because of a friend who's a real Viking of a guy, total butt-kicker, who happens to be in a chair.

As for the song, I always thought it an unfortunate bit of miscommunication: "I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me!" when St. Elmo's fire is defined as "the fire that does not burn". Glad to be corrected.

As sung by a Hindu Blessed Soul, eager to reach the Upper Heavens:

My sweet Lord
Hm, my Lord
Hm, my Lord

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord

My sweet Lord
Hm, my Lord
Hm, my Lord

I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you, Lord
That it wont take long, my Lord (hallelujah)

My sweet Lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my Lord (hallelujah)
My sweet Lord (hallelujah)

I really want to see you
Really want to see you
Really want to see you, Lord
Really want to see you, Lord
But it takes so long, my Lord (hallelujah)

My sweet Lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my Lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my Lord (hallelujah)

I really want to know you (hallelujah)
Really want to go with you (hallelujah)
Really want to show you, Lord (aaah)
That it wont take long, my Lord (hallelujah)

Hmm (hallelujah)
My sweet Lord (hallelujah)
My, my Lord (hallelujah)

Hm, my Lord (Hare Krishna)
My, my, my Lord (Hare Krishna)
Oh hm, my sweet Lord (Krishna, Krishna)
Oh-uuh-uh (Hare, Hare)

Now, I really want to see you (Hare Rama)
Really want to be with you (Hare Rama)
Really want to see you, Lord (aaah)
But it takes so long, my Lord (hallelujah)

Hm, my Lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my Lord (Hare Krishna)
My sweet Lord (Hare Krishna)
My sweet Lord (Krishna, Krishna)
My lord (Hare, Hare)
Hm, hm (Gurur Brahma)
Hm, hm (Gurur Vishnu)

Incidentally, it surprised me to learn that In Nomine considers Hinduism a Divine religion (capable of sending Essence to Heaven); I'd always thought of that as gamespeak for "Abrahamic religion" or, at least, one that didn't have an ethereal pantheon of its own. (In my own campaign, the Vedic gods are "straight" ethereals and send Essence to the Marches like any others of their kind. Heaven might still tolerate the Hindu gods and their followers, but...)

You make a good point. In any event, regardless of where the Essence goes, it's made pretty clear in Heaven & Hell that there's more than just the People of the Book running around in In Nomine's Heaven. Among other things, Confucius is spotted in the Halls of Worship, Black Elk wanders the Groves, and Bob Marley is seen coming back for an encore at the Party Lawn. Even the fact that Saints are sometimes referred to as bodhisattva suggests that the non-Abrahamic are more than "tolerated," even if Archangels such as Laurence and Dominic do consider them somewhat misguided.

EDIT: In addition, I suspect Hinduism is included among the divine faiths because its followers do believe in one Supreme God -- Brahma, Vishnu and Siva are just considered aspects of God rather than completely independent deities (as in other pantheons)

Nice choice of song, by the way. In return, here's a pretty decent description of a Habbalite's resonance in action:

Aggressive burning hate,
Raging strong and wild,
Never ending curse,
Wrong or right, who knows?
"It comes creeping from nowhere!"
You say, but it isn't true.
This rage comes from inside.
Fire begins to flicker in the eyes,
Hate grows faster and faster,
Suddenly it breaks out,
The aggression that's in your soul.

"Omnipresent Aggression," performed by Protector.

Actually, the situation is more complicated than that. Hinduism is not a divine religion - it has ethereal gods who get essence from their worshipers. However, those worshipers also send a fair bit of essence Heaven's way, and the Hindu pantheon is generally more sympathetic to Heaven's policies than Hell's. Heaven has a sort of "leave them alone as long as they don't cause major trouble" policy.
Now, Buddhism, that is a Divine religion. Ethereals hate Mahayana Buddhism, because it has the infuriating (from their perspective) trait of claiming that local gods are actually bodhisatvas. The moment an ethereal god gets too connected to Buddhism, it goes "poof", as its essence is absorbed by Heaven.

Don't forget, though, that Heaven/Hell has a bigger "pull" than most ethereal gods. Someone can worship a totally non-Divine faith, and still end up in Heaven if they fulfill their Destiny, or Hell if they meet their Fate. And neither case says anything about the validity of the beliefs they held in life. In In Nomine, your beliefs about cosmology are pretty irrelevant next to your choices in life.

Exactly. For the purposes of the game's Heaven, selfless vs. selfish matters a lot more than any particular faith.

Coming back to the original thread, here's a song I just ran across that seems to be made for the Malakim:

Resolute a stance of defiance,
Always teetering on the brink,
Nothing can hold you back when
When you're not holding back a thing!
Open arms we embrace tomorrow,
Closed fists, tarnishing today,
We're not afraid to open our mouths and scream:
We believe in what we say!

Like a wisper to the dusk,
An oath against the shadows, denying the dark
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn.
Like a prayer unto the dawn,
In arms against the shadows, destroying the dark,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn.

Covered in sweat and blood,
Yet still our heads held high,
Actions have consequences,
When you live for foolish pride.

Been careful not to lose ourselves,
Stand together one passion, one hate,
We believe in a better tomorrow,
We believe in what we see!

Like a wisper to the dusk,
An oath against the shadows, denying the dark
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn.
Like a prayer unto the dawn,
In arms against the shadows, destroying the dark,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn.

We'll fight our battles,
We'll wage our wars,
Settle the score with honor and blood,
We'll wear our scars like medals of hope,
Like medals of hope, like medals of hope.

Like a wishper to the dusk,
An oath against the shadows, denying the dark,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn.
Like a prayer unto the dawn,
In arms against the shadows, destroying the dark,
In arms against the shadows, destorying the dark,
In arms against the shadows, destorying the dark,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn,
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT 'til the break of dawn.

For an intellectual (but still cynical) Djinn:

A winter's day
In a deep and dark December;
I am alone,
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
I've built walls,
A fortress deep and mighty,
That none may penetrate.
I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain.
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

Don't talk of love,
But I've heard the words before;
It's sleeping in my memory.
I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died.
If I never loved I never would have cried.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

I have my books
And my poetry to protect me;
I am shielded in my armor,
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock,
I am an island.

And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.
