SPARK uses 33%. It's an option in the CWVD but set to 25% by default.
The green covered Compendium reprinted in 1998 ( In the UK ? ) has the +33% , but my imported version ( 1996/7 ) hasn't .

We need a 'living rulebook' - like GWS's Battlefleet Gothic game - to help weed out all these mistakes/contradictions !

Well, I use +25% - what would you chaps prefer? Perhaps add an option to set it to +33%?

And yes- it does affect the design program: after all, the tires are shown with their correct DP in the layout graphics...

Well as stated in ADQ 6/2 , +33% gives better numbers and was what the inventor was after in the first place . I'll see if I can find the quote .

The ADQ Online Archives don't have 6/2 , but the have the Q&A page from 7/1 :

C.A.O.
Q. How do these #l%@?! tire options work, anyway?

A lot of people, everywhere
Sorry, my fault Here's the order of modifications:

1.Take a tire (std. HD, PR, or solid).
2. Steel-belt it, if desired (+50% cost, +50% weight, +34% DP).
3. Add Radial (+150% cost, 20% weight, -1 DP) or Off-Road (+20% cost, + 5 lbs. weight, no DP change) modifications.
4. Fireproof it (+100% cost).
5. Put it on a cycle (-50% weight).
Thus, we could take a solid tire ($500, 75 lbs., 12 DP), steelbelt it ($750, 112.5 lbs., 16 DP), make it Radial ($1,875, 135 lbs., 15 DP), and fireproof it ($3,750, 135 lbs., 15 DP). Expensive, but worth every penny In case you're interested, a set of four of these will set you back $15,000 and weigh 540 lbs.

Thus SB Standard tires = 5 DP , SB HDs = 8 DP , SB PRs = 12 DP , and SB Solids = 16 DP .

Thanks, Racer, much appreciated!

Just redid the tire DP calculation and had to redo some tire graphics. It'll be in the next version :)

Hello & sorry to resurrect this old thread , but had requests by newer players for 'more current' Vehicle Guide .
Search function on this forum are a nightmare to use on a phone (at least in the UK) - even if your registered .

Old lists from DCWs , CWCII 5th, VG1 VG2 & VG3 are just not what are actually seen in games in the 2060s .

As Combat Garage appears to have ground to a halt , can we have a sticky post where players can access a comprehensive list of every type of standard Vehicles from the various technological eras ?
You can't even readily access the stats of Vehicles on CG , as all you can see is designer comments . Only way to access fully is to modify vehicle & read the splash box .

Would like others opinion on this too guys .

Tired of seeing VMG armed Subs with no Armour getting cut to pieces on the Road . And you still see them being designed ... so here's a better solution :

Trikegatling : Light Trike , X-hvy Chassis , Heavy Suspension , Medium Cycle PP w/PCs & 10pts Component Armour , 3 PR Cycle Tires , Driver w/SWC PFE & 10pts Component Armour , VMG Left w/16 Ammo , Sloped Plastic Armour : F30 , L35 , R24 , B30 , T10 , U8 , 4pt CWG Front , 2 4pt Wheelguards Back , Acceleration 5mph , Top Speed 90mph , HC 2 , 1,890lbs , $7,938 .

Built with Combat Garage (pity I can't cut & paste on my phone ..) & matches my notes .
Tough Road Light Trike with very accurate weapon . Very hard to hit Sloped Armour backed with Component Armour & protected Tires . Easily upgraded : HRSWC for less than $10K , HTMs , OR Tires to aid Off Road escapes , Armour swaps etc . Good Tire Shooter & can take on multiple Bikes or other light vehicles with great chance of winning .

( Went with 16 loads for VMG to save $90 , max out Armour weight & to keep it under $8K . If a L.Trike can't win/escape with 16 shots , then it's unlikely to survive anyway . It's got three or even FOUR times the amount of Armour than many $10K VMG+HRSWC Armed Subs , and thus much more survivable . Blasted two more expensive Hvy Cycles off the road , & only really have to worry about well designed Compacts as direct threats in it's price range .)

That's the cruncher; at Div. 10, my go-to design is the one which appears in some Duelling Worlds accounts: The "CME-2A" (Compact; Metal armor; Electric power; 2nd model). It was designed for NOVA arena duels, so it's lacking tire protection; that can be rectified by dropping some of the Body armor.

CME-2A: Compact; XH chas.; Hv. susp.; Md. PP w/ SC [1,540 PF]; 4x PR tire; Driver. RR [F]; Ext. Mag. [RR]; sloping. Armor: F: 13/10; L, R; 12/5; B: 12/10; T: 0/1; U: 0/3. $8,189; 4,439 lbs. Acc.: 5; TS: 92.5; HC: 3.

+ Opt.: rm. 20 reg. RR ammo; add 10x RR-HEAT, 10x RR-HESH. $8,539.

/W Opt.: rm. 5 pts. Metal armor; add 1 pt. Plastic armor, 2x 9-pt WH [LF, RF], 2x 9-pt WG [LB, RB]. +$196. Armor: F, B: 11/10; L, R: 11/5; T: 0/1; U: 0/4.

Cheap defensive Compact - makes a good vehicle for 'bystander traffic' in towns & cities .

Club Mk4 - Compact , Hvy Chassis , Hvy Suspension , Medium Power Plant , Fire Extinguisher , 4 Steelbelted HD Tires (8DP), Driver w/10pts Component Armour , Recoilless Rifle Front , Plastic Armour : F40 , L34 , R34 , B38 , T11 , U13 , 2-6pt Wheelhubs Front , 2-6pt Wheelguards Back , Acceleration 5 mph , Top Speed 92.5 mph , HC 3 , 4,046lbs , $7,500 .

An alternative to my heavily Armoured Light Trikes . Bigger Target , but Damage Modifier of 1 if rammed . Easily upgraded or Q vehicles can be disguised to appear identical to this .

( As per ADQ 6/4 & ADQ&A from ADQ 7/1 , I'm going with +33% DP for Steelbelted Tires - thus 8DP for the SBHD Tire . Only thing that varies from Combat Garage . )
