I'm partial to the original HVY myself. I mean the REAL original HVY, the one with the round turret as Chung intended.

I always thought that looked quite a lot like a M551 Sheridan turret.

Wasn't that a misprint on the old counters that gave us that version of the HVY's turret? (Checks old edition of game.) Nope, I also see what looks like a Winchel Chung illustration of the HVY with the inverted turret. Hmmm. Interesting.

Well, that would be quite the "shot-trap". Small wonder that the Paneuro Armor Design Corp would change the design for later models.

Yes all the designs can be torn apart for realworld failures - the Ogre itself is wildly impractical - but they LOOK cool, and that's all I care about.

I even prefer the original counter GEV silhouette to the 3D GEV model.

I disagree. Ogres (especially MK III forward) are very functional AFV designs. Little to no shot traps, good sloping armor, ball mounted weapons instead of turrets. And it's articulated in the mid-section to give it superior maneuverability that standard tanks cannot achieve.

Buuuut, I'm digressing now. I apologize. To make up for it, here's a few photos of OGRE Macrotures being played at Dragoncon up close including some construction shots:
EDIT: Photobucket is getting incredibly obnoxious with it's ads. To spare yourself annoyance, click your browser's "stop loading" icon the moment the image loads to stop most of the pop-ups. If you've got a really good ad-blocker, then never mind.

And here are some shots of our entire collection:

OGRE Macrotures collection 2

If I can make it to Origins, I'll bring one of the MK Vs to show off to the curious minded. It'll probably have a new paint scheme as both models are in bad need of re-painting.
