Re: Trucks, in Ogre
Decisions, decisions. There's also a MAN 4 x 4, 6 x 4, and 6 x 4 tank body. It's just like buying a new car!

Re: Trucks, in Ogre
So since there seems to be some interest in the trucks in general, here's two images comparing the GHQ MAN 10 ton truck to SJG minis.
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/3861233 https://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/3861238 In real life the MAN 10 ton truck is about the largest you'd ever need. The MAN 6 x 4 would look even smaller, but might convey scale much better. Last edited by Mack_JB; 11-30-2017 at 08:56 AM. |

Re: Trucks, in Ogre
@Mack_JB: Thanks for all the helpful links.
Those GHQ trucks look good next to the HVY and GEV. Some folks don't realize how friggin' big armored vehicles are. Believe me, that truck is not too small. There are several stories in the OGRE-verse that indicate that HVYs have a crew of 3 or 4 (including one from Evil Stevie himself) and that GEVs also have crews of 4 (Pilot, co-pilot, EW specialist, gunner) such as J.D. Bell's famous fiction piece from The Space Gamer (and later both editions of The OGRE Book.) Don't forget that you can use Tom's OGRE Map 2 to print out nice, large versions of the maps for scenarios like Iron Mountain so that you can play with painted minis in all their glory! (Well, once we get a KS featuring the III-B anyway.)

You can find photos of painted micro armor trucks next to some Ogre minis (including a Mark V) in this blog post:

Re: Trucks, in Ogre
So I bit the bullet, as it were. I already have six of the MAN 10 ton trucks, so that's my default PE heavy vehicles. I then got a five-pack of the KamAZ 6x6 to fill out that side of the force. For the NAC, I chose the U.S. design, five each of the 2.5 ton M1078 and 5 ton M1083.

Thanks, Jeff!
Speaking of Iron Mountain, for those who haven't seen it, I created a 3-D map for that scenario using Heroscape tiles: http://supergalacticdreadnought.blog...ow-in-3-d.html

Re: Trucks, in Ogre
Was someone asking about hovertrucks? For those of you with 3d printers, I've just knocked up a basic design.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2680255 I don't want to advertise, but there exist services that let you send a 3d model to be printed - and they're a lot cheaper than shapeways.

C-in-C Products (a competitor to GHQ) also has this hovertruck:
