[OOC: A padlock should be easier to break than this, though.

It does make me wonder - who the hell padlocked these fire escapes shut from the inside? ]

[OOC: Trent had already run past everyone heading fo rthe stairs he didn't waste anytime. Also doesn't cutting damage do more? Plus a fire axe comes with a spike that you can use to pry the lock off or perhaps hit the handle the chain is attached to. It surely is not made to withstand much punishment. locks and chains are designed to take alot of punishment handles not so much. But holy **** 2 inch thick chain? Most chains that could go around a door are no more than 1/2" thick at the links otherwise you are looking at super heavy duty chains they use on boat anchors for yatchs! see link attached for an wexample of security chains and locks no more than 5/8" thick for the really big ones. http://lockitt.com/chaintable.htm ].

[OOC: Right! I was referring to the doors originally. The chain is not so thick. Half inch sounds good. The actual steel is much thinner. Yes, it should be possible to break a simple chain, its not solid one inch steel. Maybe 1/8 inch? With the width of each link at its widest point maybe one inch. Besides, I think a forced entry roll would find the weakest point to hit a lock or chain, or door hinge, or door handle. Don't sweat it. That's what the Forced Entry skills is for, right? Breaking into places? LOL] ]
