Every nation gets an allotment of horror. Australia blew it all with their above board beasts, so had none left over for the monsters.

I think it's per continent, actually. Which gives Australia a large ration per species.

A bottle at the Pitt Rivers Museum, containing a witch. https://twitter.com/profdanhicks/sta...70850558095360
"Silvered & stoppered bottle, said to contain a witch. Obtained about 1918 from an old lady living in a village near Hove, Sussex. She remarked, 'and they do say there be a witch in it, and if you let un out there'll be a peck o' trouble." Game #1: Rescue mission! Game #2: Rescue prevention mission! The Twitter thread is "Curator Battle: Creepiest objects," so it's full of nice stuff. Sheep's heart pierced with nails on a cord, as a charm against evil spirits. A mummified cat is pretty normal, for Egypt, but... concealed in the floorboards of the Museum?! Surrounded by a ring of hazelnut shells?!? Edit: Guys. I can't stop browsing this thread. There is a real-life hand of glory. There is a book made with wood from a gallows tree. What the hell kind of necromancy is Real Life up to? Last edited by William; 04-21-2020 at 09:26 PM. |

Also, I suddenly thought of using this as a form of divination. Very simple yes or no questions, and you have to phrase it as a child's verse:
Tap bottle three times gently but soundly. "Witch O Witch, advise me do. Use your wisdom, tell me true. Does she love me, whom I woo? If yes one knock, if no then two." Shake slowly until one or two knocks are heard. Replace third-line question with something else of desired import. |

Doomsday preppers, French medieval style. Only a third of the estimated 3km of tunnels have been accessed so far.
I'm sure that there's nothing untoward in the rest of the complex...
