Re: Gaming Ballistic - GURPS Content Posts
Starting the process to archive in one place questions and answers regarding the mechanics of Technical Grappling. While this is part 1, there will definitely be more, since there are a bunch of questions on the GURPS Forums that have already been answered. Stay tuned for more!

Re: Gaming Ballistic - GURPS Content Posts
We'll have to figure out which of these are Frequently Asked Questions, and which were one-offs. I'm grabbing all of them (and I might do an entire post called Bite Me on the Wildebeast v Croc thing) for now, just so that I don't get caught giving different answers. :-)

Re: Gaming Ballistic - GURPS Content Posts
Finally in, edited, and posted! The full text transcript of my interview with +Sean Punch, GURPS Line Editor, as well as an MP3 file (it's big) for those who prefer to listen to things. Thanks to all those who have seen it already, and I hope this reaches a few more people - it was a very good discussion, and I hope to have more of them in the future!

Arr! Happy GURPS-Day, which also be Talk Like a Pirate Day. As I ransack my house for an eyepatch and my swashbuckler hat before I to to work tomorrow, I leave you with a Pirates of the Carribean style undead battle Royale from our GURPS Dungeon Fantasy/Jade Regent campaign.

Re: Gaming Ballistic - GURPS Content Posts
I finally get around to responding in depth to +Gerardo Tasistro's post about time of flight for bullets in RPGs. I promised I would a week or so ago, but life happened. I pick a few nits, and comment a bit on when this might matter, when it will suck the fun out of a game, and when it's Awesome.
Also did a bit of navelgazing, which includes some GURPSy content.

As being officially not-a-fan of rolling vs. ST, an extrinsic quantity, in GURPS, I was pleased when that view got a surprising endorsement!

Re: Gaming Ballistic - GURPS Content Posts
Technical Grappling introduces a lot of potential detail to fights that involve locks, throws, ground fighting, and wrestling - with or without weapons. The new mechanics provide a lot of great detail, but require a slight reset in how one thinks about grappling in GURPS.
I game out an example match between two low-point-value characters (52 points) to show how the system is supposed to work. The choices might not be the most optimal for all fighters, but the fight shows some of the emergent detail of the system.

Re: Gaming Ballistic - GURPS Content Posts
Id love some advice to be shown on 'how to avoid being grappled' not just on 'how to win via grappling', for those people who primarily prefer to inflict death upon there foes with say guns, swords, or spells but have to face the very real threat of grappling
