Default Exotic mana idea

Normal mana might be thought of as residual energy of creation that is neither good nor evil but there may also be a continuum of different types of mana with some truly evil and other purely good and most neutral. The idea is that a wizard can draw from evil mana to power his spells instead of the normal neutral mana. This mana is easier to use but comes with a price that the user has a chance to become sadistic and cruel by gaining disadvantages. How this works is that the wizard gains a disadvantage like say Bully or Sadism and then uses the points in disadvantage as energy reserve points to cast spells. Then the evil will burn off point by point just like fatigue and energy reserve are recovered and the evil becomes 0 and then the PC must make a Will roll and then the advantage will disappear if the roll is made but will permanently aquire the disadvantage if the Will roll is failed. Thus a wizard risks becoming permanently evil by using black mana but most of the time he will recover.

How to determine the black mana level: Add the mana level to the Unholy Sanctity level and divide by 2. Round up.

Default Re: Exotic mana idea

This probably should be moved to the GURPS forum.
