There is one interesting fossil showing that even homo erectus could see faces in objects. It's a naturally occurring rock with a classic smiley face that was taken far from its location of origin for no other obvious reason.

That seems like the closest existing disadvantage. The disorder seems distinct enough to deserve being treated as a unique trait. Dunno what value is best to assign to it... my initial guess is that as a purely social disorder that would not keep the individual from functioning normally otherwise, -5 pts ought to be a good base.

How much it's going to affect people is going to vary with its severity. Here's a blog by someone with prosopagnosia. And she works in retail. Eep. Anyway, that's where I first came across the term.

Maybe this is too simple a solution but there is a Perk where people can have a face that just blends in.

What is the character is affected by every one as if they all had that Perk? I guess that is how it can work but how much that would cost is beyond me.

Sounds reasonable to me. This is annoying, but not particularly crippling - after all most of the people you interact with either really *are* strangers, or are friends who know you have this problem and presumably don't react too negatively to it. It's not going to give you any worse social penalties than, say, mild Shyness. Indeed most of the effect might even be causing mild shyness.
