Default Retreat and facing

As part of my active defense against an attack I can take a step and change my facing by one hex-side. It also says that I'm considered to be in my original hex, but am I also considered to have my original facing?
Let's say that I have a buckler in my left-hand and am attacked from my right side-hex, as part of my active defense I retreat and turn clockwise, do I now get the DB from my buckler?

Yes, for simplicity sake.

The only thing a facing change will effect is Large Area Injury from a cone or explosion, as you can 'shield' one side with the other, thus turning unprotected bits away from the blast or cone attack.

Ok thanks. I figured as much myself as it's much easier to handle in game.
