As a followup, I noticed that the rules for Power Items spesifically require bard, cleric, druid, or wizard. I take it this means that people who get Magery 0 don't get to have power items?

I'm sorry, you misspelled "25". ;)

(Because at 25 you can cast a maximized Flame Jet for free)

Well yeah, but I'm only 4 xp away from 15 and 44xp away from 25 so 15 will come much sooner.

Oh yes, just need to find out whether I can still use Power Items to vacation in AWESOME TOWN. Because having a 10FP Power Item reserve will make my Swashbucklers 13 FP last quite a bit longer in combat.

I don't know about your GM's house rules, but in DFRPG RAW, Power Items will totally let you catch at least a dinner and a movie in AWESOME TOWN.

Yeah that's how I'd want it, but with the way it's worded "If you’re a bard, cleric, druid, or wizard, you get to designate one personal possession as your power item." I feel that it either is just a comment clarifying who could have use for such an item, or it's a requirement for having one.

You cast spells as a wizard. So effectively, you're a wizard as far as a Power Item should be concerned. That'd be my ruling, but I'm not your GM.

In the DFRPG, access to power items is one of the hidden perks of caster templates . . . but if you go to the source, which is GURPS, you'll find this in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 1: Adventurers:
Any spellcaster may designate one thing he owns – holy symbol, staff, etc. – as his "power item."
And you'll find this in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 18: Power Items:
Anyone who can cast spells using Bardic Talent, Deathliness, Demonic Attunement, Elemental Influence, Magery, Power Investiture, or any similar enabling advantage may designate a "caster power item."
So there, power items are tied to the ability to cast spells, and specifically the advantage that enables this ability, rather than to specific professions. A DFRPG GM who's looking at using GURPS content will most likely want to allow characters who have Magery but don't use the wizard template to benefit from this.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll make do, definitively putting some points into Energy Reserve though.
