Yes, that would just mean that the probabilities were already fairly good that the event would happen anyway. Just because someone uses Precognition does not mean that the events they foresee are avoidable.

In the case of Resurrecting Queen the event was totally avoidable. All she had to do was not invite her mother to visit her in the harem or failing that keep her from eating the food which had been poisoned in the latest of many assassination attempts. The amulet would not cooperate because it's purpose was to let it's owner change the choices that led to her death and in this case that mean the choice to commit suicide. So it's save point was right before the suicide. It also reverses time any time she tries to tell anyone that she resurrects to undo that choice.

Now how does that work?
Psionic Powers 62 Mind Wipe helps here:
"Feature: Instead of the target getting amnesia for the next few minutes, it applies to the last few minutes."

This is Affliction (Disadvantage: Total Amnesia)

It's weird because it's more like "you forgot what you were doing" than "you forgot who you were".

In the case of it happening to yourself, I think it would be Backlash: Total Amnesia. Instead of forgetting who you are for 10+ minutes when you respawn, you forget 10+ minutes of your pre-death moments. The maximum time would be however long Unkillable is in effect keeping you alive as you heal HP.
