More shameless plugging for my book. I'll be getting to actual content posts this weekend!

After a spontaneous Skype session, I get closer to finishing a Pyramid article that I know has potential, but I'm having trouble making it Awesome. Collaboration is a great thing.

My first-ever interview with anyone for Gaming Ballistic! A one-hour interview with GURPS Line Editor Sean "Dr. Kromm" Punch. In the discussion, he covers GURPS' strengths and weaknesses, compares and contrasts it a bit to other game systems, muses on the state of the RPG industry, discusses "realism" in GURPS and games, and much more. At the end, Sean talks a bit about how to write well for GURPS, now that the pipeline seems to be open again.

The newly-released GURPS Martial Arts: Technical Grappling contains the concept of "Trained ST," which takes the bonuses one gets for (say) Wrestling with more skill and extends that to much higher ST bonuses for much higher skill.

Karate and Boxing have similar bonuses. Why not make the concept generic, and extend it to all striking skills somehow? Hmmm . . .

Why not replace this link on the page with an actual link to e23's TG product page? (Also, make it so that clicking it would actually lead where it points.)

Well, the link was already on the page twice (once in the text, another time in Manual of Arms, which lists all my works). I figured that was enough.

Still . . . links are free, so.

Thursday is GURPS-Day, and I continue, um, promoting my book by posting comments and answers to questions about the new rules presented in GURPS Martial Arts: Technical Grappling. In this case, an SJG Forumite asks about combining either the alternate damage scaling proposed a long time ago, that brings firearms and melee damage on the same scale, as well as whether TG can be combined with the Action Points rules from the Pyramid #3/44 article The Last Gasp.

Can it be done? It can.

Read on . . .

(plus bonus Cone of Shame)

I'll say this qualifies as a TVTropes "graze." No mention, yet, that I've achieved my wishful-thinking goal of having TG for GURPS call this trope "averted."

At least, not yet . . .
