Re: Vitae of a GURPS player
I'm getting a kick out of the "kids" who were born after I started gaming...

That, and I own DICE that are older than one or two folks on the list here (as well as one or two folks in our gaming group).

Personally, I think the single most perfectly designed RPG on the market is Toon. But there are lots of things I wouldn't use it to run. I don't really believe there is a unique "best system" in actual use, any more than I think there is one best tool in my toolkit; if I want to turn a screw I don't pick up a hammer. My personal organon includes three different generic systems: BESM 2/e, FUDGE, and GURPS 4/e. And I'm willing to use other systems for specific purposes; the published rules for Buffy the Vampire Slayer are such an admirable fit to the source material that I see no merit in using a generic engine for a Buffyverse campaign, for example. Re: Vitae of a GURPS player
Year of Birth- 1990 (Yeah, I'm a bit young)
Year Started to Game- 2004 (Introduced to That Other Game by a friend) Year You Started to Play GURPS- 2006 (I grew dissatisfied with That Other Game, played around a bit with modifying it, then, by chance, previewed GURPS Lite. I've never played That Other Game since.) Number of Systems played- 2 |
