I'm getting a kick out of the "kids" who were born after I started gaming...

What I'm finding funny is all the people 5-10 years older than me that started gaming around the same time I did, and found GURPS around the same time I did.

That, and I own DICE that are older than one or two folks on the list here (as well as one or two folks in our gaming group).

The first of these statements raises the question of how you could know that the second was true. After all, if someone made the same statements about D&D, and refused to play anything else, I would dismiss them as a bigoted idiot; if you would refuse to play anything but GURPS, I would have to do the same with you, I think.

Personally, I think the single most perfectly designed RPG on the market is Toon. But there are lots of things I wouldn't use it to run. I don't really believe there is a unique "best system" in actual use, any more than I think there is one best tool in my toolkit; if I want to turn a screw I don't pick up a hammer. My personal organon includes three different generic systems: BESM 2/e, FUDGE, and GURPS 4/e. And I'm willing to use other systems for specific purposes; the published rules for Buffy the Vampire Slayer are such an admirable fit to the source material that I see no merit in using a generic engine for a Buffyverse campaign, for example.

Chivalry & Sorcery, Tunnels & Trolls, Dungeons & Dragons (blue book to 3.5), Runequest, The Fantasy Trip, Starships & Spacemen, Star Trek (FASA), Call of Cthulhu (multiple versions). Plus nearly that many that didn't get to five sessions.

Year of Birth- 1990 (Yeah, I'm a bit young)
Year Started to Game- 2004 (Introduced to That Other Game by a friend)
Year You Started to Play GURPS- 2006 (I grew dissatisfied with That Other Game, played around a bit with modifying it, then, by chance, previewed GURPS Lite. I've never played That Other Game since.)
Number of Systems played- 2

...Its okay to name that "other game". Many people here have tried it or used to play it. Its not like anyone is going drag you to a Dungeon because you mentioned it.
