Default new to the board

Let me first appologize, if this is being posted in the wrong area of the forums. I searched for an introduction thread, but was unable to find any.

I am not new to role playing games, be it pen and paper or online, but I am new to play by post. I have been wanting to get involved in it for quite some time. I love the creative aspect of it, and miss the old rpg books like GURPS. I am an artist and writer, so this type of thing comes easy to me, I am just unsure of how to get started. I would like to play a couple of adventures first before getting into designing my own game, which is what I perfer. Could some of you vets on the board give me a few tips to get myself familiar with how to play with the rest of the kids, and what I will need to get started? Maybe suggest a game I could jump into to get my feet wet. I look forward to playing with some of you, and hope to speak with you soon.

Thanks in advance
TT.

This forum is for GURPS stuff, so for 'getting discussions on doing PbP GURPS' this is good

You can also check the PbP games forum where there is a 'Looking for players' thread to try and join a game

As always, I'll extend an invitation to real-time chat to take you quickly through the basics. Just give me a date and time. Yahoo messenger or IRC (irc.sorcery.net #gurps). I'm getting old-hat at this. ;)
