Default Munchkin Warhammer 40,000: Faith and Firepower

We announced an expansion for Munchkin Warhammer 40,000 today. The grim darkness of the far future is getting grimmer and darker!

Heh. I'm trying to reconcile "grim and dark" with John Kovalic's art style.

To be clear, this is not a complaint AT ALL. I love his art, and love what I've seen of the art for this set. I'm not a big fan of "grim and dark", and like it being balanced by his more-lighthearted art style. I just got a chuckle from the juxtaposition of "grimmer and darker" next to a picture of John Kovalic art.

I do believe that's a feature, Mister Ed, not a bug. ;)

I think that's actually what I was trying to say, but with too many words.

We had our pre-mortem last week, where we look at every piece of the game from the outer shipping carton markings to the copyright text on the sprue that you recycle as soon as you've punched the standies.

It was the first time most of the group had seen the entire game in one place, as a cohesive whole. And it was AWESOME. Running jokes that aren't apparent when you're seeing illustrations weeks apart suddenly jump off the page.

The work our production team did on this game is first-rate. Major kudos to Alex, Ben, Gabby, and Sabrina.

And we get to do it all again with Faith and Firepower!

It's great to see a munchkin game based on a famous games workshop wargame like warhammer 40000.
It would be even greater to see a munchkin game based on another famous games workshop boardgame one : bloodbowl !!!

Personnally, i would prefer a "serious" version, i mean without the parodic side . like for Munckin marvel or Munchkin x men.

Is this could happen in the future ?

I can't speak to any licenses that may or may not happen in the future. But I can say that we will NEVER let Munchkin games that we create take themselves too seriously, although I may have accidentally crossed over that line when I wrote...

Wait, that's not announced yet.

Personally I love this about the Munchkin games. I love the jokes and how SJG pokes fun of whatever that specific game is based on. If I want a serious version we have USAopoly and IDW that gave us Marvel, X-men, and soon Harry Potter and TMNT.

Of course, no problem with the jokes in Munchkin, i was just meaning a "serious" version of an eventual Munchkin Bloodbowl like those from USAopoly , that's why i quoted Munchkin Marvel and Munchkin x-men.
