Default Streams and GEVs

I know this may sound like a dumb question.

I know GEV can use river hexes (hexes are fully water). But can they travel on streams, i.e. between hexes or can they only cross them?

GEV's can't travel on streams.

If it's a hex, you travel on it. I.e. a water hex.
If it's a hex-side, you cross it when you are moving from one hex to another.

And… before the question gets raised.

From the rule book…

Streams delay GEVs. A GEV which reaches a stream must stop and may not cross it until its next movement phase. There is no cost for crossing the stream, but the unit must be next to one at the beginning of a movement phase in order to cross.

See I thought it was obvious but I thought it best to check.

Thanks,
