Munchkin Cthulhu: Cultist Membership Card vs Gug
This may not matter because in the game I was playing the game owner was the one with the issues and their ruling is how it stands, but I want to know what others think.
The monster Gug was drawn and it says that it gets +2 if the person has no 'class'. The player had no class, but he did have a Cultist Membership Card which he said would count as his class. I contested that the card gives you the benefits of the being a Cultist, but he still has no card in play that said 'class'. Mind you he had 24 power and the monster is lvl 1, so it makes no difference for his victory, but I still contest it for the principle of the thing. |

"Gives you the benefits of the Cultist class" is not the same as "has the Cultist class card." Your friend was incorrect.
