Default Sniffing Disease Advantage

So, long time without taking a look here =). Work is killing me...

I am a bit rusty so my question is very simple. I am trying to create an hability that allows the user to use his smell sense to detec diseases. I am not sure if I use a Detec build with Requires Attribute Roll or if I build it on Discriminatory Smell with an accebility. What sounds best?

Use the Detect. It naturally gives you the ability you're after without any arguments about what a good sense of smell, in itself, could and could not do.

Yes, but it forces me to roll vs Per and not consider that the build in question has a nice Acute Senses Smell/Taste on the sheet. And also, does the Long Range table sounds right to a smell detection or I aply the limitation from powers that transform it in a -1/yard trait?

If your Detect is based on smell, your acute sense of smell provides its bonus to the Per roll. Since this is almost supernatural in nature, you could probably use the long range table.

Isnt Detec normally based on an extra sense that is not part of the "normal ones"? Can I, rules wise, say that it is smell and not a extra sense without using limitations or enhancements?

Call it a 0 point feature that you "smell" the diseases. Even if it's supernatural in nature, it's still using your nose.

Cosmic (+50%) on the Acute Smell/Taste should take care of that, along with Scent-based as a -10% modifier on the Detect, to indicate that it can't penetrate really solid seals and can be blinded by extreme scents. I'd make the range modifier -1/hex.

Detect: Diseases (Requires Per Roll -5%) [19]

It covers it? I can only thinking in modifing range (Short-Range limitation from PW 112). All others limitations and enhancements sounds out of place here.

Requires Per Roll (Smell) would definitely allow you to use your Acute Smell, just like using your vision for the Per Roll would take Acute Vision into account.

I am not sure if I followed your build suggestion John. Appling Cosmic in a sense if from the PU right? Or can I add Cosmic to the sense bonus (Acute Sense) and consider that it covers all the Per regarding Smell/Taste?
