Re: Arizona Arenas
So that's at least two places that use the term "Hot Asphalt" in relation to Southwest and/or Arizona arenas.
Is that canon somewhere or something fan-made? I'm asking all these questions because I'm planning on resurrecting some sort of organized play in Arizona and would like to have a handle on what's local and what's out there. Thank you all for your continued contributions here. |

Re: Arizona Arenas
Dear MIB.6361,
You are welcome. The Hot Asphalt Circuit is mentioned in GURPS Autoduel First Edition and GURPS Autoduel Second Edition in the AADA Tournament section of each book. A list of AADA Arena Circuits is listed in a sidebar in that section of each book. Most of the AADA Tournament section of GAD1 was presented in Arena Book 1989: L'Outrance. I havec some additional ideas for your campaign. I will post them here or send you a Direct Message this weekend.

Re: Arizona Arenas
I completely missed that reference in the book. I was looking at the Mini Road Atlas section for that info.
Any ideas would be helpful. I was never a member of the AADA or local groups in the Older Editions days. Apparently that's about to change. |

Re: Arizona Arenas
If you are forming a Car Wars gaming group that will be meeting regularly during a calendar year, you may want to consider the WADA Car Wars League to track autoduelling performance of each group member.
SWAT HQ - World Autoduel Association https://www.seanet.com/~owenmp/wada/index.html SWAT HQ - WADA Car Wars League Rules and Regulations https://www.seanet.com/~owenmp/wada/league-rules.html If a few more gaming groups will commit to playing Car Wars semi-regularly in 2020, I would be willing to start a new WADA Car Wars League for 2020.

Re: Arizona Arenas
That's a great resource.
I'm certain any activity I stir up will be 6E related. The new League would need to take that into consideration. Mostly in the area of Divisions. I'm currently working on a catchy name like SWAT for Arizona. A few ideas have been tossed around, but nothing has stuck yet. |

Re: Arizona Arenas
I have posted a full-size PDF of the Paradise arena from the Hot Asphalt supplement linked above, on BGG. (Link: http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/194565)
I made this one because, well, it looks cool, and I'm curious about running an event in it. My Car Wars experience has been pretty much all arena-based. How do you run an race event with guns that doesn't degenerate to everyone shooting each other at the starting line? Last edited by Galfridus; 01-17-2020 at 07:12 AM. Reason: typo |

Re: Arizona Arenas
The first arena book had arches duel arena in it for a place you are looking for. Also didn't grand theft auto duel start in the state for a duel?

"GTA" is set in New Mexico, but it doesn't specify what the arena in Santa Fe is called, or configured as.
