Re: Car Wars 5e Vehicle Design
Maybe, maybe not. I play X-Wing and TANKS and in both we've had 8 (or more) models in the play area. It tends to thin out quickly as the game goes along. :)

I too play X-Wing as well as Wings of Glory and 8 can easily play on 3x3 mat. In addition, those HO Scale cars will be smaller than some of bases for those games so there should be plenty of room. I have found that if you play on larger mats you have this issue with people avoiding each other versus attacking. I did find the mat he was using on a website and it was 3x3 Wish we get some new information soon. |

Re: Car Wars 5e Vehicle Design
Bumping this thread because I am hoping to host a couple CW 5e games as a way to promote the 6e KS.
I don’t think I can use any of the 5e cars as-is since only design one has gunner, and gunners are so important to 6e play. I am also going to try and figure out how to give players a choice of one of two weapon configurations for front mount, and one of two choices for secondary weapons. If anyone has thoughts about how to lightly edit 5e play to look more like what we have seen so far of 6e, please offer suggestions! |

Re: Car Wars 5e Vehicle Design
Many moons ago, someone posted the unpublished CW5 "design system"; perhaps someone around here still has that?

Re: Car Wars 5e Vehicle Design
Thanks for the 5e links, but what I am really asking for is this:
Anyone playing 5e? How would you adapt it as a setting the scene for 6e? Designing the cars is not really my main question, as I think I can pretty much figure that part out. And really, for my purposes, it does not have to be perfect. I am very rusty. I have never played 5e (even though I bought the books whenever I found them for sale). I would guess my last game was in the 80’s. I have no idea how much I have forgotten! |
