No, it's a specialty item (in with the expensive cheeses) if you can get it at all. The American equivalent will be labeled liverwurst or braunschweiger, it's similar but not usually as spreadable - less fat I guess. I wouldn't call that popular exactly, but pretty much every grocery will have one or two brands in the lunchmeat case.
