Re: (IW) Infinity getting to Yrth
Do you remember the Albuquerque cop who was immediately alerted to the arrival of the outsiders and sent to help them?

The Cabal doesn't like worlds with _overt_ magic and especially not worlds with powerful magical bureaucracies they don't control. Maybe the Cabla already controls Yrth (especialy the MOS). If so they're hiding _really_ well and would be very difficult to deal with. The cabal is probably too scatterted and decntralized to gather intel on in any systematic manner. Q5 is beyond any known Reich-5 activity. So, no not really an obvious intelligence hotbed.

Re: (IW) Infinity getting to Yrth
On the Merlin side of things a thought is whether there is a direct correlation between Magic/Mana levels and Oz particles.
If the latter increase in concentration through both mana use and Parachronics travel, Merlin could detect an inbound conveyer through sensing the Oz build up. However the counter is that their magical activity could mask this. In terms of Infinity's interest in Yrth I think the study of magic and artifacts would be a good enough reason to justify the risk. IW hints at the patrol stumbling around with such things as the Astral Plane, however being from a no mana world they're ignorant and under equipped. Setting up a magical college in some secluded part of Yrth then visiting it via White Star would be prudent. Also the study of fantastic zoology and materials produced as a byproduct of magic would be of interest.
