Use a mace sw+4 cr(2-handed) with defensive attacks(sw+2 cr).

I know this is a old post. but have to ask.

in Low-Tech Companion 2: Weapons and Warriors page 18 about cinematic weapons, the Double-Headed Axe is a variant of the great axe and therefore must have the "‡" but looses the U in parry and getting a +2 instead.

can that be right?

can this weapon attack and parry in the same turn? or is it just good when to parry if you do not attack?

hope someone have the answer to this

Is it possible that "becomes unready after you attack with it" assumes the standard attack (swing+4 crush for Maul, swing+3 cut for Great Axe) using the tip of the weapon?

These are both Reach 1,2* weapons so if you are initially using Reach 2 but use a Ready to adjust to Reach 1, this fulfills "Reach C or 1 melee weapon" for the Combat Option of Pummeling (Martial Arts 111) and you can roll against Brawling instead of your usual skill to hit, but it would just be a lower-damage thrust crushing...

Since it's a lot like punching with your weapon, maybe doing that with these weapons wouldn't unready them like the normal swings would? Just a thought for a possible compromise.
