Default Item equip question

So if I have a 2 handed sword equipped and I want to now play two one handed weapons do I just turn the two handed sword sideways and continue?

if my class gets changed so I can no longer use an item does it just go sideways?

if i was a dwarf and I had two+ big items in play then lose being a dwarf do I have to discard all but one?

Big items are different in that you have to give them to the lowest level player who can legally carry them. If no one can legally carry them, then yes, they get discarded.

Also, with Big Items, you first have an opportunity to correct the error immediately (if said actions are legal) before you are forced to give them away. So you could sell or trade one, play a Cheat! card to one or even play another Dwarf card if you have one.

And upon losing a race with a Usable Only By . . . Item for that race in play, it turns sideways after the combat, but you don't get its bonus immediately. The example given in the FAQ is the Elf with Bow With Ribbons where you could play another Elf card to get the bonus back:

The Elf then goes into combat and is subsequently Cursed by another player to lose his Race. He now loses the bonus for the Bow, and since he can't switch out the Bow and replace it with the Chainsaw, he gets no bonus from that, either. As an aside: Should the player have another Elf card, then – assuming it is his turn – he could play that immediately and get back his bonus from the Bow.
