Well, says it's for 4e. It still has PD listed on handcuffs or some other item.

The vision rules and hearing rules on GURPS Mysteries p.46-48 seem to be fully 4e rules, with the exception that Hearing uses a different (simpler) range penalty than the rule in the Basic Set; but this seems intentional.

Transhuman Space doesn't have any special rules at all (and I'm a little perplexed that you'd expect it to). Only the four paragraphs on pp. 230-231 in the 3e Lite rules, which are about as minimal as you'd expect and amount to "Roll IQ+Acute Senses" (no Per in 3e, of course).

Changing Times
doesn't mention anything about it (which makes sense since it's a setting, not rules, update).

It may or may not be intentional, but it's less realistic than using the range rules in Basic, so it still feels like needless complexity.

It seems much simpler than the rules in the Basic Set, unless I am missing something.

Oh, sorry, I forgot the bad rules were in Basic as well. My preferred rule is:

Hearing uses the same range/speed chart as everything else.

Isn't that basically the rule in Mysteries? Use the Speed/Range Table and add-1/100 yards over 300 yards.
