Russian member of Mufti Council talked about religious extremism, which includes "European inquisitors, such as Grey Knights, Deathwatch, Sisters of Battle, and similar organisations, which drew a lot of blood both Christian and non-Christian".

Link for the curious, though Google translates the report into borderline gibberish.

Sounds like the original was pretty much gibberish anyway. Aren't the Sisters of Battle from Warhammer 40K?

I've gotta surprise you, so are the Grey Knights and the Deathwatch. Which is what puts into Real-Life Weirdness.

Seven-meter wasp nest containing millions of wasps found in abandoned house in the Canary Islands.

Personally, I'd suggest that the previous owner is cocooned inside the nest and will burst forth with his kinswarm once fully metamorphosed.

And an invasive species at that. I thought only bees ever congregated in those numbers. Being carnivorous, I bet the neighborhood doesn't suffer from rodents... or strays.

Desert Varnish might be part of a "shadow biosphere" here on Earth with life forms we can't even detect yet.

Looking for something to do on your holidays when you visit the US? Why not go look at a decommissioned Titan missile silo.

Not in itself weird, but if you like this thread, you'll probably also like the Google+ community "Suppressed Transmissions". And you'll see some familiar names and faces.

As a matter of fact, I reposted a lot of links from this thread to this community of mine in the beginning. But I am very glad to say that the community has now enough momentum of its own, and currently boasts more than a thousand members...
