Re: Octopus Carnival - GURPS Content Posts
I've been away from home this past couple of weeks, which prevented me from writing much on Octopus Carnival. Now I'm back home, and I resume posting with the next article on the Pathfinder Iconic conversions: Seelah the Paladin!

Re: Octopus Carnival - GURPS Content Posts
Today we have a simple system for handling weapon and armor upgrades in a manner similar to that found in Dragon's Dogma. Your PCs will have one more reason to hunt down monster bits!

I'm surprised that you created several specializations of the Esoteric Medicine skill for your converted Pathfinder characters. In Pathfinder, all healing magic basically works by manipulating positive energy (i.e., the life force). Why did you choose to create multiple specializations?

Re: Octopus Carnival - GURPS Content Posts
I'm using stock GURPS Dungeon Fantasy rules and templates for them, and those use several specialties (Druidic, Chi, and Holy). Healing spells remain the province of the Holy power source, and the Cleric template.

Our series of Pathfinder conversions continues withHarsk the Ranger!
Oh, and there was also a post about Artifacts and dragonforging in Gransys but I didn't announce that one at the time because it was quite short. |

Re: Octopus Carnival - GURPS Content Posts
Hmmm, I admit, if you can achieve the same 'Firing every round' effect with Heroic Crossbowman and Quick Reload (and eating the penalties therein, just like with bows) crossbows have a major plus in damage, price, and ACC
Though I guess are heavier and not sure I can see DWA with a crossbow |

Re: Octopus Carnival - GURPS Content Posts
Individual crossbow bolts tend to do more damage, but you can't do some of the "multi-shot" trickery with them as you can with bows. At least, that's how I rule it.
Anyway, I've now started posting monster stats! Here's the first article, on human opponents. |
