Re: Munchkin Starfinder!
I'd back what Charlie said. As a non-American consumer the main drive for me were kickstarter exclusives, meaning that not only i'd back the campaign but i'll extend my pledge to get more stuff (3 Shakespeare expansions for example), which actually helped reaching next goals.
As a hardcore fan i'd probably still try to get "early bird" reward, since i tend to get anything Munchkin related otherwise, and it usually is a steal (Steve's autograph), but some of my friends from Poland were positively surprised by contents of my Shakespeare boxes and were willing to join in the next campaign, but turning it to regular "pre-sale" is a big no-no. Hopefully this turns out to be better than i described and you'll get new hardcore fans in my country. Cheers |

Re: Munchkin Starfinder!
While I don't care about Kickstarter exclusives one way or the other - they're nice when I can get them, but if I miss them, so it goes - there are ALWAYS vocal folks who decry the very existence of any limited-run items.
Like I said, I have no opinion on the matter, but it is something to consider. |

* Steve Jackson Games has been in business 37 years, and we like to take actions that allow us to continue producing games for decades to come. Kickstarter exclusives will cause the company problems in the future. * Kickstarter exclusives are still forced to follow the usual manufacturing minimums, potentially leading to situations where we have hundreds (or thousands!) of units in inventory and no way to sell those items. We can sell to the Kickstarter backers, yes, but then we watch as those are taken to eBay and fans who missed out pay two, three, four times (or more!) than if we could have just offered the item for sale to everyone. Kickstarter exclusives are good and bad. We experimented with an exclusive for Shakespeare, and now we are planning a Munchkin project where we take a more long-term view of the product (and potential expansions and accessories that may be unlocked during the Kickstarter project).

Thank you for your reply :) At this point, any further discussion would be pointless, and i guess we just need to see the end results of this campaign. As for now i'm pleased with what i've got from your kickstarter projects, and am willing to put trust into next campaign. Also could you please send Steve to Poland? I'd very much love to meet him in person. Not that i have special dungeon cell prepared for him or something like that... |

Re: Munchkin Starfinder!
I am super impressed, guys. Funded in half an hour, first stretch goal reached in an hour . . . looks like I have a bunch more writing to do!
(If you're curious, both Starfinder and Far Out are currently in playtest, and I'm working on cards for Stretch Goals As Yet Unseen.)
