Best HT/UT weapon(s) for a ST 15, 16, 18, 20 and 25 characters?
Greetings, all!
Inspired by the similar thread. What do you consider the best High-Tech and Ultra-Tech weapons for unusually strong characters? Thanks in advance |

Obviously, HT/UT weapons greatly reduces the advantage of high ST. I think the most important factor is what kind of fighting you are expecting to encounter.

This depends even more on tactical and legal concerns than it did for the low-tech question, so much so that I don't think it can be answered. Is this a personal weapon, or an issued one? Is the character going to need to be foot-mobile with weapon, tactical ammo load, water, armor, food et. cetera? Does it need to be concealed? Does it need to be legal? What is legal in the character's society?

Well once you're into UT you can just pick whatever weapon you want and put a Gravitic Compensator on it.
I guess the real question is what exactly you want to do. Most weapons are designed with different purposes and budgets in mind. |

With 14 ST I really like dual wielding laser rifles

My vote is for a firearm of some sort.

Molokh, I am presuming you want to limit this to melee weapons that rely on a ST stat for damage?
If so then the force sword variants are out since they don't use the ST damage table.

With High Tech weapons, it's not always the size of your gun, but how much ammo you can pack.
Based on film, at TL7 the clear preference for high ST characters, has got to be the (barely) portable M134 electric-drive minigun. For TL8, the Daewoo USAS-12, fully automatic shotgun has a lot of curb-appeal. At TL6, what about a good Browning machine gun? 50 cal if you're strong enough, or the 30-06 if you're a puny muscle-machine. |

At the high end a halberd with a superfine vibro-hyperdense blade and a rocket striker gives you a 9D Cutting damage with a 10AD. More than twice what you can get from a force sword - for six shots anyway.
A stasis switchblade will give a strong man 6D-1 + (up tp 300 or is R(10) an armor divisor?). Wow. That is going to leave a mark too.
