12 years later, I'm still reading Magellan (now on a different hosting service, here).

Wapsi Square, often called "A slice of supernatural life", has a hard-to-quantify storyline. The original overarching story involved a multi-century timeloop, an immortal WMD called the Chimera, and how people's personal demons interact with the mortal world.
Sluggy Freelance is over 20 years old, with a story spanning dimensions, centuries, interdimensional (timeless) space, and corporate world-domination conspiracies. It looks like it's entering its ho,e stretch. Something Positive is a much more down-to-earth comic. Several of the characters start out as villains, or at least unsympathetic adversaries, but grow to become people you really root for. Mixture of daily gags and a consistent background. Flaky Pastry is an awesome fantasy/sci-fi comic. Last edited by CraigR; 10-27-2018 at 11:42 AM. Reason: bolding titles |

Some of my favorites that haven't been suggested yet:
The Whiteboard, Alaska's premiere furry paintball webcomic 3 Minute Max about a teleporting vigilante who dies before entering combat Sandra and Woo about a raccoon and his girl, and Gaia, high fantasy with properly attired female characters (that's from an ad of theirs, btw) Cassiopeia Quinn, an interstellar thief. |

*adds:*
Namesake -- stories and world-travel are part of the lifecycle of the universe! Selkie -- an amphibious species is secretly living in the great lakes, and one of them got adopted by a human... How To Be a Werewolf (without silly alpha/omega stuff!) (bonus mention of RPGs! ) Trying Human -- space aliens! Going through a Redraw, but I don't recall if the Old Art is what's archived or not.
