Can Control (Super-Effort) be combind with Power Block for an enhanced power level block?

I'm assuming you're asking whether Extra-Effort and Power Defense can be used at the same time? If so, I don't see why not since Power Defense is just a way to let you effect an object whether or not it is attacking you.

Supers has an Enhancement Called Super-Effort for control. It is like super-effort in Powers. ei Control 10 (Super-Effort, +400%) will give you an Effective Control level of 100 for 1 FP, it Replaces normal extra-effort rules.

If they can be combines it will result in a Power Block of DR 100 instead of 10.

Ah, got it, I had forgotten about that enhancement. Can you use the Super-Effort on Lifting ST to lift a truck out of a ditch to block a laser beam?

Well in the Case of Control 10 (Gravity, Super-Effort) it would be use the gravity to bend the laser (because Gravity can bend light).

I'm not sure What Lift ST would be sued for, but maybe.

The reason I bring it up is that if it works for Lifting ST then it ought to work for Control, but I don't know whether the descriptor for Super-Effort limits its use in some way I don't know about that might change that--I have Powers, but not Supers, so I'm just extrapolating.

Well the limits on Power Dodge/Parry/Block are in Powers not Supers 8)

I just checked for other places where Super-Effort shows up in Powers, and found that, for Telekinesis, it doesn't effect damage, therefore it wouldn't effect Power Block for Telekinesis. Perhaps it takes the whole second to lift/alter a mass/area with Super-Effort?

Power Parry is based on damage, Power Block is based on level.

The thing is Power Block explicatively mention Defending abilities and abilities like Control and Obscure, But ST, and TK (which is really only remote ST) isn't normally considered a defending ability.

Aplying Occam's Daiklave to the question, one clear answer emerges: Yes.

Erring on the side of defense, when it's situational and costs fatigue, is always a good idea.
