Default Alchemy (Metallic) and Gadgeteers

Quick Gadgeteer specialized for alchemical preparations is canon in Dungeon Fantasy (original GURPS version at least) at a -50% limitation.

Would using Quick Gadgeteer to improve Metallic Alchemy (from Pyramid #3/68: Ars Metallica) be overpowered in your opinion? The time reduction seems potentially abusive for items that can be re-used, but I'm not sure whether it could end up being balanced or not.
