Since a full doubling is only 2 pts 1 pt should still get you x1.5.

In 3e/TransHuman Space there was nano that delayed your aging thresholds by 20 years and that was counted as a 0 pt Feature.

So you're going to have to spend points on it if you want it...
Cool. Thank you for posing the question directly to the Source. I need to get access to the Access Denied forums. I keep forgetting to. I have many questions.

Hmm. I wonder if that survived the updates to 4e in Changing Times? I need to do some looking around.

Thanks,

-Mike

C'mon over! Bob's a pretty welcoming fellow, and if we ask him enough questions about IST he might finally get inspired to write the 4E update... (Well, one can hope.)

As I recall Changing Times says mostly to use the original TS nano as is.

This was largely before the 4e tech books and nowadays I beleive Phil tends to recommend wholesale repalcement with 4e material rather than piecemeal conversion.

With all the considerable respect due to Bob, it's been previously established that significant edits to his IST work were made that did not get back to him and that he didn't particularly agree with. There could well have been a redaction that suggests such a thing despite his disavowal.

I have no reason to believe he would mislead me - in fact, I trust him to be honest with me to the extent that SJGames' NDAs allow.

Mathematically it would be x1.4142, but x1.5 works so much better for ease of use. Taken with Early Maturation 0.5 [0] that would give:

Code:
  Age Looks
  18 18
  21 19
  29 24
  30 25
  37 28
  40 30
  46 33
  50 36
  58 40
  75 50
Note that some characters with Longevity are noted as looking about a decade younger than their age, e.g. Hunchback (Mixed Doubles page 24) is 73 years old, but looks 60ish and Mr. Ng (Mixed Doubles page 112) is 55 years old but appears to be in his mid-40s.
Taken together (Extended Lifespan 0.5 [1]; Longevity [2]):

Code:
  Age Looks
  18 18
  22 19
  35 24
  37 25
  45 28
  50 30
  58 33
  63 35
  75 40
8. How long do world class athletes play their sport?
The average world class athlete retires from his sport at the age of 33. Incredibly, the average NFL player is retired by the age of 28, the average world class wrestler by 24, and the average elite gymnast by 19.

However, age isn't the only limiting factor, being a super-hero involves more violence and injury than even the harshest sports, I'd expect to see some advantage or explanation of how a hero with decades of super-combat experience hasn't been maimed out of the field. Something like an absolute minimum of:

Attributes: HT 14 [40].
Advantages: Rapid Healing [5]; Regrowth (Minor -50%) [20].
Perk: No Roll Required on Crippling recovery rolls [1].
