Disposing cards question
Hi i want to ask something that we fight over and over about, when we play munchkin with friends.Let me describe it with an example:
A player has 5 cards on his hand and its not his turn.He helps another player in a fight and he gets 3 treasures and has now 8 cards in his hand.Does he have to give/dispose the remaining 3 (or 2 if he is dwarf) immediately or wait until the 4th phase of his turn comes? |

Re: Disposing cards question
You are not required to give Charity until the end of your own turn.

Re: Disposing cards question
My understanding is that the only time you have to keep your hand at or below the minimum number of cards is at the end of your turn, during the 4th phase. Any other time you can have as many cards as you want in your hand.
The charity rule can be useful, as it is one of the few ways to give another player a race card from your hand. But that's another thread topic. Regards, aeronaut

Re: Disposing cards question
Can't resist this and damn it I should be able to:
How the Salem Midnight Crew Recommends Disposing of your cards. For Fantasy Munchkin, we recommend the following: a Kevlar lined bag of holding, insert the cards you wish to dispose of, and then tossing them into a active volcano. For the others: Star Munchkin, burn them and have NASA send the ashes into space. Munchkin Fu, Hit them with a Karate Chop, pick them up with chop sticks and serve them as the wrap for sushi. Extra sticky rice is needed. Munchkin Bites, drive a stake through the deck and burn them. Scatter the ashes in small pinches over a wide area, or into running water. Super Munchkin, you need to send the cards to a secret Government HQ! Send one hundred dollars and the cards to Andrew Hackard and he will be happy to dispose of them for you. (He KNOWS this people, he's a close and personal friend of Kenneth Hite). Munchkin Impossible, Q will handle them for you. Explosive canisters or a flying car. Munchkin Cthulhu, you just don't want to know... The nightmares will last way tooooooo long. Good, Bad and the Munchkin we roast them over a open fire and send smoke signals to others. Munchkin Booty, we send them to the Discovery channel for Shark Week! This is NOT an official answer. This is a weird and off the wall answer. Pat

Re: Disposing cards question
I would like to ask something relevant and wouldn't like to open a new thread.
1. You get a card that ex. you have to give to your friends 2 random cards. Can you drop down that moment the cards you don't want to lose? ex. filters which i read can be dropped as they have a gold value. 2. You have dropped an ex. armor which is not for your class. You get a curse "lose your body armor", will you lose that card too or only what you are wearing that moment (your class items)? 3. Can you give charity at the end of every round or only at yours? |

Re: Disposing cards question
These are BARELY related questions, but I'm not in a mood to quibble...

You may only give Charity at the end of your own turn. That's why it's a phase of your turn, not a separate between-turns action.

And now, to answer your question: No, you only give charity at the end of your turn if you can't figure out how to get your hand down to below the limit. |
