Fire/flame attack
Do flaming armor and staff of napalm count as fire/flame when killing the large angry chicken to gain an extra level?

As for the original question: Flaming Armor is a flame attack, obviously. I'd have to check Staff of Napalm's card text to be sure, but certainly the intent is that it's a fire/flame item.

It has always been "assumed" to be fire and flame. The original cite comes from Erik on the mailing list. But that is a heavy duty search. Pat

Re: Fire/flame attack
It surely wasn't said by me, and had I seen such a thing, I would have been all over it. In fact, I can't think of the number of times that I've said Spiky Knees were not Armor, and that I've had to say that you can wear them and the Kneepads Of Allure at the same time because people want to create the Knee slot way too often. . .

Would you say that {any item that gives you a combat bonus} counts as an attack / counts as killing a monster with the item? Whereas {something that was flaming that did not give a combat bonus for the combat in question} would NOT count? (eg a flaming sword you could not currently use, a flaming potion you could have used but did not, etc.) |

Re: Fire/flame attack
Serious nit picking going on here. Any Item you are using counts as part of your "attack." I don't understand how this can be in question, as I can't think of the number of times Andrew or I have said that this game isn't intended to be that complicated and trying to decide if Armor counts as an attack or not is silly and is an overt attempt to complicate things. It gives a bonus, therefore it adds to your combat strength, which you use to "attack" Monsters. For simplicity's sake, if you use (not just carry) an Item that says it counts as a flame/fire attack, looks to be on fire or has flaming in its name, it's a flame/fire "attack."
