What became of Little Sam? Did he follow his father into the Watch, or was he strongly discouraged from doing so?

He, or children and grandchildren are quite wealthy. Did he get more involved managing the estates?

Or in the more general sense, what is the landed nobility up to? Are they just becoming more and more irrelevant as their relative wealth declines? Is there a faction of aristocrats trying to roll back water clock?

Did the Agatean Empire ever get opened to Circle Sea commerce, or is it still just "nothing beyond the wall but vampire ghosts"?

The immense amounts of gold there will attract businessmen/adventurers anxious to get some of it, but doing so may be tricky.

Now I am picturing a naval standoff as steam octironclads rule the seas, but can't come within a league of the coasts due to the Barking Dogs on every headland.

Perhaps they remain a hermit kingdom and the only significant power not complying with the No First Use policy.

- The Octiron curtain
I'm picturing agents from the central powers running around in Puntab, Klatch and Djelibeybi.

Indeterminate. Not really the part of the setting I'm thinking about. I'm looking to run a steampunk game, not a Discworld-witches game. But the default assumption is that the book characters are almost all gone, one way or another, to create an essentially new game setting.

What about Susan Death? I could see her going either way. Her parents died in a relatively timely fashion, but she might have stuck around for one reason or another since she's had so much more involvement with, for lack of a better word, the Other Side. OTOH, she knows better than most why it's a bad idea to stick around past your time...

See my immediately previous post.

The model is late 19th century Earth. Therefore, the aristocracy still have considerable power, largely through inherited wealth, but an objective observer will see that they're on a long downward slope. They're definitely marrying their daughters off to the sons of successful industrialists, to raise the cash to patch that leaky roof (all three acres of it).

It was already getting pretty open by The Last Hero, let alone The Compleat Discworld Atlas -- but under an idealistic, rather flaky revolutionary regime. I'll probably define it as a mixture of 19th century Japan, Nationalist China, modern Japan, and modern China. Bes Pelargic should definitely be modelled on 1930s Shanghai, because it'd be a criminal offence not to.

She's supernatural, whether she likes it or not, and she's involved in a romantic relationship with an incarnation of Time. I imagine she exists largely outside time by now, and still ends up doing odd favours for her grandfather, while trying to preserve an element of humanity.

Which, I guess, means that she socialises with Eskarina Smith in a very odd bar, half glossy modern cocktail bar, half Victorian pub. The only other human person I could imagine showing up there would be Archchancellor Stibbons (who I can't resist having around), because he's achieved an understanding of the nature of spacetime almost approaching theirs -- and even he mostly drops by to confirm which research grant requests he should veto with extreme prejudice. Okay, the History Monks also have access, but find the place unnervingly unenlightened.

Ponder gets booted up from research wizardry to administration and departmental politics? Poor man!

The newspaper industry should be quite important, since the clack will allow communications across the continent.

Hex probably reached its own singularity because it kept on improving itself.
