PBEM Ogre/GEV opponents

Is there a way to play Ogre/GEV PBEM? I moved and don't have ready access to opponents in my new location yet.

Anyone want to show me how to play PBEM?

yes, there are a couple different ways to do it.

Arguably the most popular nowadays is to use vassal. Not only is it possible to PBEM, you can actually play real time (and it's cross platform). here are the links for vassal and the most current ogre modules

The other common one is cyberboard. That is PBEM only, and the counter set for it hasn't been updated in quite a while (not that that matters much) You can find details on Tristan's Ogre/G.E.V. page

At this stage, I would recommend vassal most of the time, since it's more up-to-date and allows Mac people to play with Windows people natively, etc. If you would like some directions, and to play some games, feel free to PM me.

yeah, I can't PM you, either. I can send you an email through the system though. You can reply to that.

I have also played PBM Ogre using the hex numbers on the board, sending a list of moves back and forth.

It is not as convenient as the electronic game options.

Yeah, that's pretty old-school, but would still work :-)
