I don't want to divert attention from 'Crypt' but the two are related, so I'd like to point out that one of the great things 'Unlife' does is to provide us with a kind of horror-movie monster manual that is all nuance and flavor without getting lost in the mechanistic weeds. In my mind, this was always one of the great strengths of early-edititon D+D; somehow they started with a system that had three meaningful monster stats (HD, AC, damage) and milked out of it several monster manuals that have remained core creative material for every fantasy roleplaying game you ever heard of. Ideas>>>stats, every time. This idea is central to TFT's traditional approach to its iconic monsters, but 'Unlife' definitely adds fresh substance of equal merit.
