Personally, I'm more interested in having a nice wide variety of digital counter images that people can print to make their own counters, than just physical counters.

Skarg, that's a great idea, and there are all sorts of digital tools to make it happen easily these days.

ProFantasy's many programs, especially Character Artist.

DAZ Studio is another great option.

Digital artists are also all over the Web, with deals for selling their art.

Manual sketch/paint/water color/etc., artists' work is easy to scan and they also sell their digitized work online.

I'm sure other commenters can add more options to this short list.

Point is, if you want something quick, nice and relatively inexpensive, there are more options today than ever before.

Hi Paradox.
Very nice. I would be tempted to go into a drawing program and emphasize the edges with thicker lines.

Warm regards, Rick.

I actually want them borderless, and would cut along the lines, but, sure, some people like borders and that's also fine!

If we're going Electronic, why not go all the way to putting them into fonts. As fonts, they can be scaled easily, and only the ones one wants need be printed.

(I have the minimum skills, but not the patience, nor good images to start from; S. John Ross has the skills and, based upon what he's got for sale, has better skills than me AND the patience...)

It's also worth noting that, using kerning pairs, one can do overstrikes for limited labels (a letter or number). (I've not see SJR do it, but it's not hard if one has the skills to build fonts.)
