Default [Powers?] Hitting oneself

Let's make this short.

One of my player is going to have powers, lotsa them. He wants, among others, a blast powerful enough to knockback several enemies away from him, without causing effective damage. There is also tons of limitations on it ("less cost, more power"), but there is one that I can't quite manage to picture. This is what the told me:

"Also, the enemies aren't the only one affected; the blast is so powerful that it throws even me away!"

And here I am, ripping my hair. I'm currently drifting through Powers, hoping to find a "Costs HP" or a "Affects self" limitation. How would you model this?

Same price, an explosion on your front affects you by default.

If the power makes something bad like reducing FP, then I would give it a price.

Only Emanation and Selective Area / Selective Effect prevent wide-zone things from affecting you, IIRC.

I am given to understand that Aura does as well.

Taking a damaging aura would be suicide if you were affected by your own aura.

Hmm. Now that I recalled about the Aura + Area Effect builds, yes.

Oh hey, I can answer this one!

If you emit a harmful Aura, then you're not affected yourself. If it's something good (say, healing), then you are.

Yeah, obviously you can opt out of the immunity when you define an ability.
