DR 3, actually. It's fairly tough.

The foramen itself doesn't have to be breached. Just displacing the vertebra is enough to cause spinal injury resulting in paralysis (perm or temp) or death.

It seems low for a cut that overpenetrates, but a bit high for Imp or Pi that overpenetrates.

Shh, I haven't yet begun to slice the peasants:D
Actually, thinking more on lines of how much Cut to get extreme dismemberment effect

Isn't HT*-5 the threshold for immediate death? That's like being cut in half by a single blow, perhaps.

GURPS Basic, pg 421:

"Limb (arm, leg, wing, striker, or prehensile tail): Injury over HP/2."
"Extremity (hand, foot, tail, fin, or extraneous head): Injury over HP/3."

And:

"Dismemberment: If injury to a body part before applying the above limit was at least twice what was needed to cripple it, the body part is not just crippled but destroyed. A cutting attack or explosion severs a limb or extremity; otherwise, it’s irrevocably crushed, burned, etc."

So ... Assuming HP 10, a cutting attack that does 10 injury to a limb severs it. 6 or 8 (depending on how one rounds) injury will sever hands and whatnot. Cutting someone in half is an forced death check failure thing and only happens at -(HP * 5). (-50 HP assuming HP 10, for a total of 60 injury inflicted.)

It didn't work out as I'd intended - too funny/ irritating, but it might suit a chanbara gorefest.
Edit the Grand Unified thing is fine though and is pretty much the same difference without the irritation:D

Note that it is 2x what is needed to cripple. Crippling a HP 10 humans arm requires 6 points of injury ("over HP/2"), not 5. Cutting it off or otherwise destroying it thus takes 12 points of injury, not 10.
