Trying to take TWERPS claim to being the worlds shortest RPG would be one thing GUL could accomplish.

I think it would be fun for introducing kids under 10 to gaming. The nerd in me is agreeing with Rev. P Kitty about shrinking the point spread, but I would want to see how it plays first.

As for the folding format, I quite like that. I would like to see a "one page GURPS" pdf in that format.

Well, that's ... odd.

I was excited at first. I thought I was going to have a really nifty one page summary of GURPS for quick reference during play and all, but that's not much like GURPS. I'm not sure what I can do with it.

Gavynn, have you seen the One Page GURPS pdf on Eric B. Smith's site? Check it out here (link).

Nope, don't think I had run across that yet. Thanks.

Looking at it and if one can make it dice-less then you would have Generic Universal Lives Action Role Play System. GULARPS now there is a mouthful.

Me too, but I'm not disappointed.
I was toying with the idea of a stripped-down rule system to introduce newbies to GURPS concepts like "roll 3d6 under your skill" and "characters are built with points", and that's a good start. After adopting Rev. P Kitty's suggestions, BTW.

If you ignore skill levels, the point rage is only between 20 and 40... so it's quite balanced.

Seriously. You can have a 14-point PC adventuring in the same party as a 156-point PC, both built on the same number of levels. Now, that could be called a feature if you want, but it's not a feature of GURPS.
I don't know if it's a problem... in a ultra-lite game, both characters will be similarly capable.
And if you use full rules, you'll have to recreate your PC anyway, not to convert it, so...

That said, GURPS Ultra-lite is a nice idea, but I think I'd rather use FUDGE if I wanted a super-easy game for new players.
