I'm of the same mind as GP. I'd possibly get it if there isn't another demand on my limited funds, but this would definitely be a very low priority.

Of course!

Theres so many points of view, so many possible events and potential sizes of stories. And what's great is all or nothing can be anything like canon at all.

That's going to be an interesting question for the writer's guidelines: how closely does the fiction have to conform to canon? Which will also require defining which of the existing published stories are and aren't canon.

I'd like the anthology to include some of the Space Gamer fiction, now hard to find, and maybe some of the inspirational stories. Especially "Gottlos," which is hideously out of print.

The only canon in Ogre is mounted on tanks.

Curious: did you mean Gottlos from Analog November 1969, or is there another?

Analog November 1969 isn't too hard to find. I was able to purchase a copy in good condition a couple of years ago, and the price was very reasonable. There weren't a ton available, but I did find more copies for sale that I anticipated. Condition varies, of course.

Reprinting and securing rights to re-publish is more than likely something that SJG isn't going to pursue.

Yeah, I snagged my copy for about $5 during the Ogre Designer's Edition Kickstarter campaign. I suspect you're right that the rights would be difficult to secure; you'd have to track down whoever holds the copyrights to the old Analog catalog.

Most Space Gamer fiction is actually quite easy to find! You can get it right here.

I would much prefer to see new authors get time in the sun as well as new material from established authors, than reprint previous material. That said, we have reprinted things in the past (Iron Mountain) so I won't say "never". . .

I can virtually guarentee that you won't see us reprinting Gottlos. We do not have the rights nor are we seeking them. Sorry!

D.
